Itinerary:
Day
1 : Arrival in Anchorage
Day 2 : Anchorage to Talkeetna (114 miles) We start in the parking lot of House of Harley in Anchorage , Alaska . Motorcycle pick-up, safety briefing, and we are on our way north! Dinner TBA . Stay in Talkeetna.
Day 3 : Talkeetna to Fairbanks (278 miles) We ride past the tallest mountain on the continent this day, Mt. McKinley. The Parks Highway winds through the Alaska Ra ng e , past the Denali National Park Entrance , and on to Fairbanks. Dinner TBA - Stay in Fairbanks.
Day 4 : Rest day at Chena Hotsprings (56 miles) Short ride to Chena Hotsprings. Relax at the Chena Hotsprings Resort, a naturally occuring mineral hotspring comparable to pools found in Europe. Indulge in the outdoor pools, take a hot stone massage, or a dog sled cart ride. Don't forget to check out the Ice Museum, complete with Stoli Ice Bar, where everything from your martini glass to your stool is made of ice. Stay at the Chena Hotsprings Resort.
Day 5 : Chena Hot Springs to Paxson (177 miles) After visiting the town of North Pole, we will continue south through the Alaska Range with stunning river deltas and remarkable Isabel Pass on the Richardson Highway. The road winds past Isabel Glacier and along the shores of Summit Lake. Spectacular scenery! After a great ride we will stop for the night at the remote Tangle River Inn. Here you will have silent nights and magical views with all the comforts of home, one of the favourite stops of this tour! Stay at Tangle River Inn.
Day 6 : Paxson to Valdez (186 miles) We continue south to the ocean. This day features the views of Elias National Park , Thompson Pass, Keystone Canyon, and Prince William Sound. A world-class ride into Valdez with more spectacular views of glaciers, waterfalls, mountains and picture-perfect vistas. We will stop at Worthington Glacier where you can walk right up on the glacier! As we ride through Thompson Pass and Keystone Canyon there will be many stops for endless photo opportunities. We will stay in the heart of Valdez, right on the harbour, where you can watch the fishing boats arrive with their daily catch and chat with the locals about life in Valdez. Stay in Valdez.
Day 7 : Rest day in Valdez (195 miles) - take a Glacier Cruise or Kayak Trip Stroll the docks in the morning, shop, river raft or fish...there are many activities in Valdez including kayaking, flight seeing, hiking etc. Glacier cruises are popular and can offer a new vantage point to Alaska as you may see glaciers calving, whales breaching and bald eagles soaring. Ride through Thompson Pass again to Matanuska Glacier area . DinnerTBA . Stay in Valdez.
Day 8 : Valdez to Majestic Valley (190 miles) Leaving Valdez is just as amazing! We climb Thompson Pass gaining 2,000 feet in elevation in less than 4 miles and ride post Worthington Glacier. Out lodge for the night is remotely located at the Glenn Highway about 70 miles from the nearest grocery store. Here we will dine on a gourmet dinner while we bask in the mountain views and sip adult beverages from the wrap around porch at the lodge. Stay near Matanuska Glacier.
Day 9: Majestic Valley to Anchorage (113 miles) We ride the curvaceous Glenn Highway west to Anchorage. Visit the stunning Matanuska Glacier. It is a National Forest Scenic Byway, and features stunning scenery. Premier Farewell dinner in Anchorage. Stay in Anchorage.
Day 10: Departure
