Short description: North- and South Island Wellness Highlights in 18 days from Christchurch to Auckland. We will travel on 13 of 18 days an average of 140 miles (or 240 km) per day. The ride will take us about 4 hours, so there is plenty of time to stop for photos, coffee and the many attractions along the way. Every day we will have at least one hour lunch stop at a cosy roadside cafe. We can stop additionally as often as you like! On the 5 days that we are not travelling, we will simply relax and enjoy what New Zealand has to offer: wildlife, outdoors, adventure sports, superb wineries, gourmet food, soul food, food for thoughts and possibly shopping for those who like it.
The tour also offers light activities (walks, kayaking, jogging, yoga) and the opportunity to indulge in hot pools and spa treatments as part of an optional wellness programme. The following highlights and attractions are awaiting us along the way: whale watch (trip by boat or plane optional) at Kaikoura, wildlife tour to see penguins, seals & sea lions, Milford Sound overnight cruise, spectacular West Coast & glaciers, boat ride into the Marlborough Sounds Maritime Park, fishing, kayaking, swimming, Wanganui River National Park, vulcanoes, bubbling mud and geysers and plenty of beach days.
